Final Day - Celebration Event

Just to say thank u to the team you have done very well with all the kids - the work is wonderful - from a parent :-)

Apologises for our blog entry deleted by accident from a member of Thames Valley Police Support Officer (please e-mail me and I will add it back in)

I am so proud of all the young people - they have worked so hard and they have brightened my mornings up! I hope you are all really proud of what you have achieved!  A special well done to HM - Carole and Louisa are so proud of you! It has been worth all those early wake up calls and nagging! You know your gonna miss it!
A really emotional but meaningful day! Our artists arrived and helped Tanya (Georgia's mum) decorate the hall and get it ready for our guests.  We welcomed a few guests (about 80?) comprising family, friends and varied professionals to The Forum and enjoyed a final spread of food from our friends at Bartlett Butchers.  Parents and others seemed really impressed with the art work on display and some people even took the opportunity to contribute to the blog, make a stop-frame animation or stick some more pics in our scrapbook.  Jake showed my son (also Jake) how to use the digital SLR.

At 1.30 we moved to Exeter Hall for the presentations where we tried to give an account of what we'd been up to for 3 weeks.  Georgia and Stuart performed original poems for the assemble and we screened some animations, pixilations, interviews and documentary footage of SAC 11 edited and set to music by Linda.

Finally we did our thank yous and awarded each of our 10 graduates with their certificates and mini-Oscar statues.  Thanks once more for your patience and commitment to SAC 2011 which was undoubtedly as successful as we could have dreamed of.

The work continues for Claire and Caroline and the rest of the Connexions team as well as myself and Roshel as we track the progress of our young people hoping they use SAC as a springboard to further artistic and vocational successes.  From SAC 11, over and out.  Tim

Well we have done it!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations to all ten young people for achieving their Bronze Art Award - it was fantastic today to see all your family and friends - so lovely to see you sharing your work!! I am very proud of all of you! Be good ;-) and I wish you all the best for the future - photos from the day ... taken by Linda, guests and young people :-)
